Wikipedia explains: Chicory root & polydextrose fibers are both soluble dietary fibers which are a pre-biotic (a non-digestible food ingredients) that stimulate the growth and/or activity of bacteria in the digestive system.

LC-Sweet® Carb Counts
1 tsp =  .1g net carbs  (2.8g  - 2.7g fiber = .1g net carbs)

Splenda® Brand Granular Sweetener.
Bulking agent ingredients: Maltodextrin (also dextrose (simple sugar) added in splenda® brand packets)

Wikipedia explains: Maltodextrin is easily digestible, being absorbed as rapidly as glucose (also known as D-glucose, dextrose, simple sugar, or grape sugar, and is a monosaccharide simple sugar.). The European Union's CN code calls it glucose syrup, and in definition glucose syrup contains over 90% glucose.  Wikipedia also explains that “Glucose Syrup” is made from the hydrolysis of starch, and maize is most commonly used as the source of this starch, in which case this syrup by definition is actually "Corn Syrup". Glucose syrup can also be made from other starchy crops, including potatoes, wheat, barley, rice and cassava, which are all higher in carbohydrates.

Splenda® Granular Carb Counts

1/2 cup = 12g net carbs
