You can also add spices like nutmeg, nuts, clotted cream or berries as desired, or just enjoy them plain and simple.
Scones are believed to have originated in Scotland. Similar to an American biscuit, they are traditionally served warm. Usually eaten for breakfast, or served with tea and in coffeehouses. Popular in England, they are often served at the daily afternoon tea time.
